Oktoberfest Bratwurst Sauté

What you need:

+ 1 lb. Schnucks fresh bratwurst sausages (about 5 links)
+ 1-1/2 c. Schnucks apple cider, divided
+ 2 Tbsp. Schnucks unsalted butter, divided
+ 1 large sweet onion, cut in half, then thinly sliced
+ 1 lb. Fuji apples, unpeeled, cored and sliced
+ 1 bag (2 lb.) refrigerated sauerkraut, rinsed, drained and squeezed dry
+ 1/2 tsp. caraway seeds
What to do:
1. In deep 12-in. skillet, add bratwursts and 3/4 c. cider; heat to boiling over high heat. Reduce heat to medium; cook 9 to 11 min. or until cider evaporates, bratwursts brown and internal temperature reaches 145°F. Transfer bratwursts to plate; keep warm.
2. In same skillet, add 1 Tbsp. butter and onion. Cover and cook 6 to 7 min. or until tender, stirring occasionally; transfer onions to plate with bratwursts. Reduce heat to medium-high. Add apples and remaining 1 Tbsp. butter to skillet and cook, uncovered, 7 to 8 min. or until tender and browned, stirring occasionally.
3. Stir sauerkraut, caraway seeds and remaining 3/4 c. cider into apples; heat through. If desired, cut each bratwurst diagonally into 3 pieces. Add to skillet with onions and any juices on plate; heat through.
